Q&A

Here you will find answers to some of our commonly asked questions.

Q: Are your earrings hypoallergenic?
A: That’s complicated. The short answer is yes, I only purchase findings that are listed as hypoallergenic/nickel free/lead free. The complicated answer is almost all hypoallergenic findings contain some level of nickel. I do have 925 Sterling Silver, Stainless Surgical Steel, and gold filled findings available upon request. They do cost slightly more, however. Reach out if you see a style you like and want it in a different metal and we can chat.

Q: Do you really give money to charity?
A: Yes! I take 10% of my profits and donate them to local charities and nonprofits at the end of the year. I like to associate the style of earring to the charity, so cat earrings usually go to Orphan Angel Cat Sanctuary and such. If you’d like a list of who I donate to please reach out.

Q: Will you donate to my charity/nonprofit?
A: Maybe-reach out and we can talk! I’d love to do fundraisers for causes, too with a portion of total sales going to a specific cause, so if that’s something you’re interested in again, reach out!

Q: Why snakes?
A: Because I like them.

Q: I don’t have pierced ears/earrings irritate my ears.
A: That’s not really a question but it is one of the more frequently heard statements. I can help with that! I have some nifty clear, horseshoe style adapters that can turn any dangle style into a clip on style! The adapters are extremely subtle and easy to wear. I have fat earlobes, and while getting them on the first time takes a little practice, once they’re on they’re quite comfortable.

Q: Why are your studs bumpy on the backs?
A: There are two reasons I add texture to the backs of my studs. First, I like it. I think it adds a little interest and looks nice. Second, adding texture means that in the summer, or if you’re doing anything that causes you to sweat, your earrings won’t trap moisture between the earring back and your earlobes. This makes them more comfortable for long term wear and keeps them from getting gross.

Q: What are the names of your pets?
A: Our sassy black female cat is named Jade, our easygoing male tabby is Spike, and our ball python is named Sabertooth. We are discussing adding a bearded dragon to the clan (mostly because I want to put it in costumes).
